Alpacas have been around for centuries. Orginally from south america they were prized by the incas for thier luxurious fiber that comes in 24 natural colors. Alpaca fiber can be made into several products such as socks, hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters, bags and rugs. Not only is their fiber warmer than wool it is also stronger and more resilant.
Very docile and easy to handle these animals are the perfect livestock. Not only do the provide amazing fiber but they are very easy on our lands. Only having bottom teeth and toes instead of hoofs. Alpacas only eat 3% of their body weight and need minimal shelter as they prefer to be outdoors. They are very hardy and disease resistant.
Because of thier calm and easy going personalities they make great pets, therapy animals, and companion animals.
All Alpacas sold are up to date on vaccines and started on halter. Buyers are welcome to bring thier alpacas back to the farm for shearing in late april early May.
